We accomplish this through public education, advocacy and litigation. Constitution and the New York State Constitution, including freedom of speech and religion, and the right to privacy, equality and due process of law for all Lower Hudson Valley residents. We work to protect and defend the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, the U.S. The chapter was organized in 1962, as the Westchester Civil Liberties Union, and has actively supported the constitutional rights of the people in our area for more than four decades. It is a part of the NYCLU, which is the New York State affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union. The Hudson Valley Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union serves Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
